Request An Appointment
  • When making an appointment there will be a $25 non-refundable deposit that will be applied to the cost of your procedure. If you cancel your appointment, the deposit will be converted to a donation.

  • Scheduling an online appointment does NOT guarantee the appointment date you selected. You will receive an email confirming your appointment date or giving you a new date.  You will also receive a phone call to take your deposit to keep that appointment.

  • We are not making appointments over the phone for owned cats and dogs. If there are no dates available, then we are full for that size/species.

  • FERAL/COMMUNITY CATS-Please call or email us for appointments. No online scheduling is permitted. (Feral cats are wild outdoor cats that cannot be picked up, handled, or held without violence.)

  • All male dogs are required to have an e-collar to prevent licking after surgery.  If you do not have an e-collar one will be provided for you at the time of surgery at a cost of $15.00.

  • Not every companion animal is a good surgical candidate for our clinic. Some dogs and cats, e.g., seniors, those with specific medical conditions, animals on certain medication etc., are better served by being spayed or neutered in a full-service veterinary facility that can better meet their specific needs. Please note the following qualifying criteria prior to requesting an appointment with our clinic:
  • All animals must be at least 4 months old and under the age of 10 years. Pre-operative bloodwork is required for all animals 7 years and older.

  • All animals must weigh at least 3 pounds and no more than 100 pounds.

  • We will not perform surgery on animals with any known illness, injury, or medical condition that may increase surgical risk, including but not limited to heart murmurs, blood, endocrine or seizure disorders.

  • We will not perform surgery on any dog that is in heat at the time of surgery.

  • Purebred breeds predisposed to VonWillebrand disease such as Dobermans, must have a negative blood test prior to surgery.

Drop-off time for dogs is 7:30am-8:00am.  Pick up is usually 2pm.
Drop-off time for cats is 8:00am-8:30am. Pick up is usually 4pm.

Our clinic provides spay and neuter surgeries, performed by skilled veterinarians, for dogs and cats aged 4 months and older. All patients over 3 months without a current Rabies vaccination will be given one at the time of surgery at a cost of $15.

Vaccinations and all other services are
offered only at the time of surgery.

Financial aid may be available for qualifying families – contact us for more information.

Surgeries are performed by appointment only. Please click the Request an Appointment button to get started. Scheduling an online appointment does NOT guarantee the appointment date you selected. You will receive an email confirming your appointment date or giving you new date options.  You will also receive a phone call to take your $25 non-refundable deposit that will be applied to the cost of your procedure. Clients will be contacted one week prior to their scheduled appointment to confirm the surgery. Confirmation of the appointment is required within 24 hours of the call to maintain the appointment. If confirmation is not received within the 24-hour window, the appointment will be canceled. Clients on our waitlist will be contacted to fill the appointment as we work to meet the need for low- and no-cost spay and neuter in our community.

We recommend that all animals have an e-collar after surgery (the cone that prevents licking and chewing) in order to prevent injury or infection at the surgical site. Because male dogs are most prone to licking their incision, we require that all male dogs have e-collars after surgery. You may purchase one from us for $15, or you may bring one with you on the day of your appointment.

1. What services are offered at the Fixin’ to Save Spay & Neuter Clinic?
2. Does The Fixin’ to Save Spay & Neuter Clinic work with feral and community cats?
3. Why are the Spay Neuter Clinic’s fees lower than other veterinary clinics?

The Fixin’ to Save Spay & Neuter Clinic is a non-profit clinic and we only provide spay neuter surgeries (and some wellness services the day of surgery.) We do not provide care for sick or injured animals, so we do not need to have on hand the many medications and diagnostic tools a full-service clinic needs. This non-profit and focused approach allows us to provide high-quality spay neuter surgeries for less. If we feel an animal has special needs that we cannot meet, we will refer that pet to a full-service clinic. Your pets’ safety is our first priority. Financial assistance may be available if needed – please ask us about this.

4. Can anyone use the Fixin’ to Save Spay & Neuter Clinic, and do I need to make an appointment?

Yes, our services are open to all. And yes, you do need an appointment for surgery. Just click the Request an Appointment button and it will take you through the process to make an appointment.

5. What do I need to do for my pet before and after surgery?

Please download the Pre-Operative Instructions and Post-Surgical Instructions for more information
