ADA Accessibility & Accomodation

ADA Accessibility & Accommodation Statement

The Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society is committed to providing equal access to our programs and services for people with disabilities, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

We welcome all members of the community and will make reasonable accommodations to ensure individuals with disabilities can participate in our adoption services, public programs, and events.

Requesting an Accommodation

If you need an accommodation to access our services, please let us know. Requests may be made in person, by phone, or by email. Advance notice is helpful but not required.

Service Animals

Service animals are welcome in all areas of the shelter open to the public. We follow ADA guidelines regarding service animals and do not require documentation.

Facility Access

We strive to make our public areas accessible. When full accessibility is not readily achievable, we will work with you to provide services in an alternative, accessible way whenever possible.

Sensory Inclusion

Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society is proud to be a KultureCity Sensory Inclusive™ certified location. Sensory bags are available upon request, and our team has received training to better support individuals with sensory needs and invisible disabilities.
