Christmas Story Time at GMHS!

Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to GMHS! Bring your family and your camera for this jolly morning. We will hear stories from Santa and Mrs. Claus, take special photos, enjoy a hot chocolate bar, and make fun holiday crafts!
This fun event will take place in the GMHS Lobby. This family-friendly event is $10 per family. Advance registration is required!

The GMHS team invites you to join us for our annual holiday open house!

On Sunday, December 8, from 1 PM to 3 PM, join us as the shelter, visit with Santa, make holiday crafts, and meet homeless pets awaiting adoption!

Select a pet from our Angel Tree and donate pet food and supplies to make their holiday wishes come true!

Support the shelter with a purchase from our bake sale–100 percent of sales benefit the homeless pets at GMHS!

Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.

Kids Movie Night

Sign your kid(s) up for Kids Movie Night featuring “Garfield”! The cost is $25 per child which includes movie, pizza, popcorn, craft, and a visit from shelter pets. 100% of the proceeds benefit the homeless pets of GMHS! Open to children ages 6-12 years old. This is a drop off event. Bring their favorite blanket, pillow, and come wearing comfy pajamas! Spots are limited, so sign up today by calling 804-693-5520 or emailing outreach@gmhumanesociety.org.

Cornhole Tournament & Shelter Party

Join GMHS for our Cornhole Tournament & Shelter Party sponsored by our friends at Chesapeake Bank and Chesapeake Wealth Management! The event is Saturday, September 21 at 2 PM at GMHS. Entry is $20 cash per player and singles and teams are welcome. The prizes for the top 2 teams are taking home 50% of the entry fees and a set of fully customized cornhole boards and drink holders from our friends at Sign Media. There will be food, drinks, and fun for the whole family!
